Spreading the germs
Abby stared sniffling on Friday afternoon and I thought it was allergies. Until I started feeling sick yesterday. I think we both have a cold now. Yuck. Mine is so bad that I stayed home sick from class this morning. On the upside, there aren't too many days that I get to snuggle up in bed, watch Oprah and baby myself.

Weekend Update
This weekend was busy. My cousin came from Michigan to visit and attend my sister's bachelorette party. Saturday was my sister's bachelorette party. It was a fun time.
Sunday was the town parade and Abby marched in it with her Daisy troop.

After the parade the family got together to celebrate mine and my Mom's birthday. We had a pretty cake!

My sister and her fiance' got me a cute Hello Kitty tote bag with a matching wallet. My Aunt gave me some pumpkin soap, a book and some scrapbook stuff. She also gave me a gift card to Barnes and Noble which is totally burning a hole in my pocket. My parents gave me two pretty necklaces, a subscription to National Geographic and a gift card for Torrid. All kinds of cool goodies!

Please help the adoptive parents of Guatemalan children
My best friend and her husband are in the process of bringing home their 2nd baby from Guatemala. Beginning January 1st, 2008 the US & Guatemala will stop being partners in adoption. This means any children who are in the process will not be able to come home to their new families. It's such a heartbreaking situation for everyone involved.
Please take a few minutes and sign this petition to help those families.

Overdue Update
Wow, I haven't updated in awhile. That would be because school is in session and life is crazy!
+No cancer in my lymph node!
-lymph nodes still oddly enlarged, will check again in 3-6 months
+no thyroid cells detected, so cancer is still in remission!
+kids are both loving school
+Evan is getting awesome grades, his midterm quarter report was A's and 1 B
-school is kicking my butt and I'm in the middle of midterm week.

Biopsy
I had my lymph node biopsy yesterday afternoon. The worst part was the waiting. My appointment was for 1:30. I finally got the first needle in the neck after 3pm. My neck hurt a good bit yesterday, today it's just uncomfortable. My Mom took us out for ice cream afterwards. I should have results in a week. I am determined to get good news! Sorry I haven't been posting much...just feeling down in the dumps about my neck nonsense.

Test results
Good news: my thyroglobulin test came back as "undectected" which means there are presumably no thyroid cells running around in my body.
Not-so-good news: my doctor is still worried about my strangely large (and continuing to grow) lymph nodes. She has decided I needed a biopsy. So next week I am going to have a big f*@$ needle in my neck to check it all out.
I'm trying to look at this as good news, but I can't help but be scared of what they might find. I didn't sleep at all last night and I'm super tired and stressed out today so that makes it hard to be rational.
It's hard to be supermom when you feel poopy or are worried about something so huge. But I'm plugging on. Daughter loves school and I'm finally okay with her going. It was sooo hard for me the first few days. I love picking her up because she is so excited to see me. Son seems to also like school and is trying much harder this year to get those grades he is capable of. I'm proud of them both.
I love my classes. They are both quite challenging and homework heavy, but I'm excited about learning new things.
