Unbelievable

Photobucket

Woke up very early this morning to a text message from NIU that there was a shooting and campus was on lockdown. I could NOT believe it. Again? I have been telling myself for the past 2 years that this would not happen again.

Yes it was an isolated incident stemming from an argument. BUT, it was 2 STUDENTS involved. UNDERGRADS! And one of them had a GUN. Guns do not belong on campus. Should we really have to invest in Kevlar to go to school?

I'm in the mood to decorate and re-decorate our house. I would love...

From Urban Outfitters...
For our bedroom, we so need some seating for when we are hanging out.  Plus I think it would be neat to own a "fainting sofa".

And for our dining area:

Goodies in the mail

I recently purchased Legally Blonde 2 from my LJ pal Heidi and it came today in the mail. Hey, I love that movie! Don't judge. Anyway, along with that fabulous DVD, Heidi included some cute goodies which of course Abby snatched up right away. Here she is modeling one of the tattoos and the bracelet.

Thank you Heidi for making our day!

A little update

Friday night I finally started feeling better. I don't know if it was the flu that I had or nausea due to the hormone adjustments I am going through. Either way it was quite awful and I was so thankful when it was over.

Saturday we met our friends Alycia and Rob at the Pow Wow at Joliet Junior College. We had a fabulous time. I would have loved to indulge in the Indian tacos but I wasn't sure my tummy was ready. On the way home from the Pow Wow, we hit the IKEA in Bolingbrook to get Evan a new dresser. We let him make the final decision and he choose this one:

My only requirement was that it was real wood which this one is. I have had enough of veneer that winds up getting icky looking after a few months. Visiting IKEA always makes me feel motivated to work on decorating our house more. All those cute little rooms they have there all put together kicks my bum into gear. I am quite anxious to finish up our master bath.
