Friday 5 Follow-up
And out of the things I wanted to get done this weekend, the only one I did was read my book. Just 3 chapters while stopping every few minutes to scan the park for Abby's location.

Hooray for 3 day weekends!
This past weekend was a much needed time for our family to slow down. Although we had originally planned to do some home improvement projects, both Evan and Josh were feeling under the weather with a cold so we changed our plans. Rather than working this weekend, we relaxed. I think we had sort of forgotten what that was like. It was really nice.

Weekend getaway
A s you probably know, so far 2009 has been a stressful year for our family. With Abby is finally walking and feeling good, it was time for Josh and I to get away for the weekend. Funny how when it's just the two of us we can actually have a conversation without stopping to mediate some squabble over the Xbox or something. We went to New Buffalo, MI and stayed in a nice little hotel,The Harbor Grand. This is the room we stayed in....

View from our room:

One of my favorite things (and there were plenty of nice things about it) about this hotel was the breakfast delivered to your room in a picnic basket.

It was a great weekend. We relaxed, watched movies, enjoyed meals that other people cooked, shopped, walked on the beach, flew a kite, and sat in the hot tub.
Pictures of the beach and Josh flying a kite....

Back from break
Today was the first day back from spring break. Back to class and back to reality. No more watching trashy tv, playing Sims 2, and taking naps. It's refreshing to get back to my schedule and be at school though.

Lunch:

Kids:

I think my spring break was a success.
I got my hair cut.
Scrapbooked with Amy.
Visited Alycia and baby Ethan.
Had lunch with Josh.
Had a visit from my father-in-law.
Got a new car.
Did some research for my primate cons. class.
Broke my glasses, but ordered 2 new pairs from Zenni Optical
Some photos of it all:

This week's happiness...
Brought to you by cookies and Hello Kitty tents....
Life has been very stressful for me lately, but rather than focusing on that...here are some photos of things that made me smile over the past week.
My roses that Josh gave me for Valentine's day in full bloom...

Smiley face cookies from Elleson's bakery in Sycamore....

My new favorite argyle sweater purchased off a Target clearance rack...

Ladybug cookie sammich from Schnuck's grocery store which Josh and I shared...

Abby playing in her room in her Hello Kitty tent. It's awesome that she is able to play in there again, despite the cast...

Hee hee, I wish I could play in there too!

Our weekend
I don't have any photos to share because our camera is too annoying to use right now. The latch on the battery door is broken and we have to tape it shut. Ugh, I know it sounds lazy but I haven't felt like dealing with it.
Friday night and most of Saturday was spent dealing with our garage sale. I have never had a garage sale so the amount of work surprised me. Or rather I should say the amount of work that the guys and Evan did surprised me. Ha ha. Abby had a lemonade stand at the sale and made a $1. It was pretty cute except she was kind of an aggressive salesperson. I think it confused her that not everyone wanted lemonade.
Saturday night we had our first fire pit fire in a month or so. We made s'mores and drank some wine that we brought back from Michigan.
Sunday was devoted to sloth. We spent the day relaxing, reading and enjoying the sunshine. I love sitting out on our deck in the shade and enjoying the fresh air.
This is the last week me and the kids have off before school starts. Hopefully it's a good one!
