No new pictures
On our family vacation, we managed to get sand in our camera and now it doesn't work. I didn't realize how important my digital camera is to me until I didn't have it to use every day. Hopefully we can get it fixed or replaced soon. I'm having photo withdrawal.

It's not all fun & games
I love being a mom 99% of the time. But that 1% can be really bad. For some reason my children just cannot get along with each other. They are always arguing over the tv, the gamecube, the computer, some toy. What blows my mind is that they have a 7 year age difference...it's not like they play with same kind of toys! Most days I spend my time cleaning the house or refereeing between them. By the time my husband comes home, I'm ready to tear my hair out.
I am really looking forward to some "me" time this weekend. I am going to spend most of Saturday out of the house between a scrapbook party and going to scrap mania with a friend. I know after that, I'll have renewed patience.

We didn't let her win
Last night we had a family game night. Meaning that the 4 of us sat down to play a game. The only game that all four of us enjoy that is possible for our 5 year old to play is LIFE. We have to help her since she can't read. We also tell her the pros and cons of making any decisions, but ultimately she makes the choices. Last night, she won. She won by a lot. Maybe the simple approach that our 5 year old takes is the way to win?
Mommies don't get sick days
I injured my knee in January and then reinjured it again a couple of weeks ago. My doctor wants me to rest it as much as possible, which as a mom is a joke. Luckily my husband took a long weekend this past weekend and I did get a chance to rest a bit.
From Friday afternoon until now I've basically been doing nothing in an effort to rest my kneecap injury. And it sucks. I'm bored out of my mind. I have to sit with my leg straight out or it hurts. I have to limit going up and down the stairs (according to the doc) so I have to decide where I want to be. If I go to the living room, there's no computer and the kids control the tv. If I stay upstairs where I can control the tv and use the computer, then the kids are constantly fighting and tattling on each other. Gah! I've read 2 books and working on a 3rd plus 4 magazines.
The good news: I think it's actually helping. I'm in less pain.

Are you going to make out now?
We took our family vacation this past week to Grand Haven, Michigan. It was a blast. We swam and played in the sand. While we were there, our daughter turned 5. Wow, 5 years old. It seems like just yesterday that we were preparing for her birth. Now here she is about to start kindergarten. Time goes by so fast.
Our first night in the hotel, our son said something funny. As we were all settling in to go to sleep, he asked us if we were going to make out now. I'm still laughing over at that one.

I've moved
I have moved my blog from My Life As A Mom over to here. I haven't updated in like a month...eek! I find myself using my myspace blog the most for some reason.
The things we say
There are many things about parenthood that surprise me. Most of all are the things I wind up saying. Things I never thought I'd say. Such as:
1. Don't bite the dog.
2. Don't put your sister in the dog's crate.
3. You can't wear your princess dress to the park.
